The Titans Hockey Union came out firing on all cylinders and never looked back, cruising to a decisive 9-2 victory over Victoria HA. The game was effectively decided in a blistering first period where the Titans exploded for seven goals. Abel Fausak was a force of nature, completing a first-period hat trick, while Rylan Daley and Luc Rodrigue each added a pair of goals in the opening frame. The Titans' offensive onslaught was fueled by a relentless forecheck and crisp passing, with Luke Van Imschoot contributing four assists in the period alone. Victoria managed to get on the board with a goal from Wyatt Martel, assisted by Mitch Collins, but they were simply overwhelmed by the Titans' firepower, being outshot 17-8 in the period.
The middle frame saw a significant shift in momentum as the game became more disciplined and physical. Penalties began to pile up, with Wesley Lizotte and Carter Rennie taking minors for the Titans, while Victoria's Mitch Collins found himself in the box twice. Despite the chippy play, the second period was the only one that saw no scoring, a testament to tightened defenses and perhaps a settling of nerves from the Victoria goaltending after a difficult first period. The Titans continued to control the shot count, but the pace of the game slowed considerably as both teams battled along the boards and in the neutral zone.
Any hope of a Victoria comeback was extinguished early in the third period when Luc Rodrigue completed his own hat trick just 17 seconds in, pushing the Titans' lead to 8-1. The physical play continued, resulting in coincidental roughing minors to Logan Klassen and Sheldon Kucy. Victoria managed to capitalize on a power play, with Anderson Lewis scoring off a setup from Cole McNabb and Klassen. However, the Titans had the final say, as Sheldon Kucy netted one more at even strength, assisted by the prolific Fausak, to seal the 9-2 final. Bennett Neilson was perfect in net for the Titans, turning aside all 30 shots he faced for the win, while the Titans' offensive leaders, Fausak and Rodrigue, proved to be unstoppable forces in this lopsided contest.
