In a back-and-forth battle between two 18U AAA squads, Bow Valley HC emerged with a hard-fought 5-3 victory over Island HC. The game opened with a flurry of first-period action as Island HC's Louis Prystupa struck first, assisted by Nolan Ganter and Carter Stamp-Vincent. However, Bow Valley responded quickly, with Keegan Bailey netting the equalizer just 43 seconds later, set up by Tadeas Pavlik and Simon Vicen. The physical tone was set early when Bow Valley's Jakub Lorenc took a boarding minor, but neither power play could break the deadlock in an opening frame that saw Island HC dominate shots 14-7.
The second period became a scoring festival with four goals exchanged between the teams. Bow Valley took their first lead when Jack Deglow scored early in the period, with Bailey and Daniel Dvorácek providing the helpers. Island HC responded with two quick strikes to reclaim the lead - first Carter Stamp-Vincent found the net with assists from Prystupa and Hunter Yanick, followed just 38 seconds later by Yanick himself, who converted feeds from Simon Pallan and Stamp-Vincent. But Bow Valley wasn't finished, as Wayne Sun restored the tie before period's end, with Bailey collecting his third point of the night and Deglow adding another assist. The middle frame saw plenty of penalty box traffic with four minors called, including infractions to Island HC's Dawson Carey and Prystupa, and Bow Valley's Deglow and Bailey.
Bow Valley seized control in the final period, outshooting Island HC 14-8 and scoring twice to secure the win. Vojtech Bulat gave Bow Valley the lead for good early in the third, with Pavlik notching his second assist of the game. The clincher came shorthanded from Connor Eeles in the final minutes, sealing the victory despite a late crosschecking minor to Bulat. While Island HC's Leonidas Barkoulas faced 30 shots in the losing effort, Bow Valley's Jack Hunter backstopped his team to victory facing 31 shots in a game that featured plenty of offensive fireworks and special teams drama.
