Despite the barrage, it was Bow Valley's Jakub Lorenc who opened the scoring, assisted by Wayne Sun, to give the home side a brief lead. Edmonton responded quickly, however, with Braden Saulou knotting the game at 1-1 late in the first, setting the stage for their takeover. The second period saw Edmonton seize control, with Chase Harrington, Ryder Forster, and Felix Hawryluk—who netted the eventual game-winner—all finding the back of the net to build a commanding 4-1 lead.
The third period descended into chaos as the physical play boiled over, with a staggering parade of penalties including multiple misconducts and a game misconduct to an Edmonton coach. Amidst the chippy play, Edmonton's offense never relented. Ty Edwards and Tiago Chanak, who scored twice in the frame including a power-play marker, extended the lead to 7-1.
