The Langley HA 18U AAA squad came out flying in a commanding 6-2 victory over the Lloydminster Athletics, setting the tone early with a relentless offensive attack. Just nine seconds into the game, Lucas Bilbrey electrified the home crowd with the opening goal, assisted by Sevak Gill and Logan Boudot. Lloydminster's Albert Muravsky answered back to tie the game, but Langley's Dávid Szilágyi restored the lead before the first intermission. The opening frame was marred by a massive scrum at the 1:25 mark, resulting in a flurry of roughing minors to players including Nolan Oxtoby, Rhys Horon, Easton Benoit, and Hudson Wright, setting a physical tone for the contest.
Langley broke the game wide open in the second period with three consecutive goals. Malakai Bautista started the onslaught with an even-strength marker, before the power play took over. Sevak Gill capitalized on a man-advantage, followed shortly by Hudson Wright, who buried another power-play goal to extend the lead to 5-1. Lloydminster managed to stop the bleeding briefly with a power-play goal of their own from Bryden Larsen, but the damage was done. The period was again punctuated by penalties, including a misconduct to Rhys Clayton and a bench minor for too many men on the ice against the Athletics.
The third period saw Langley add one final power-play goal from Owen Corscadden to seal the 6-2 victory. While the final frame was quieter on the scoreboard, it was anything but calm on the ice, as frustrations boiled over for Lloydminster. Goaltender Connor Sittler's night ended in disgrace, as he was assessed a series of penalties at the final buzzer—including unsportsmanlike conduct, cross-checking, a misconduct, and a game misconduct. The game was a story of special teams dominance for Langley, who scored three times on the power play, and a disciplined, high-volume shooting attack that saw them fire 56 shots on goal compared to Lloydminster's 36, overwhelming the Athletics from start to finish.
