The 18U AAA Titans Hockey Union rode a potent offense and weathered a furious third-period comeback attempt to secure a 7-4 road victory over Langley HA. The game was a tale of two halves, with the Titans building a comfortable lead before a penalty-filled final frame allowed Langley to storm back, only for the visitors to slam the door shut in the closing minutes. Titans goalie Felix Rossignol was credited with the win, while Langley's Colton Bush took the loss in a game where defensive discipline often took a backseat to offensive firepower.
The Titans set the tone early. Abel Fausak opened the scoring midway through the first period, assisted by Spencer Behnsen. Langley's Kaleb Beson answered quickly to tie the game, but the visitors regained the lead before the intermission as Luke Van Imschoot finished a play set up by Fausak and Rylan Daley. The second period saw the Titans extend their advantage. After Langley's Kaden West tied the game again, the Titans responded with two quick strikes. Rylan Franklin scored at even strength, and just over a minute later, with Langley's Lucas Bilbrey in the box for tripping, Luc Rodrigue capitalized on the power play to give the Titans a 4-2 lead heading into the third.
The final period descended into chaos and nearly saw a miraculous Langley comeback. The Titans were whistled for a series of infractions, including a double minor for spearing by Abel Fausak. Langley's power play unit, led by the dynamic trio of Owen Baker, Nolan Oxtoby, and Kaden West, went to work. Nolan Oxtoby scored on the man advantage early in the period, and just over a minute later, Owen Baker buried another power-play goal. Oxtoby then netted his second of the period to complete the hat trick and suddenly tie the game at 4-4, sending the home crowd into a frenzy. However, the Titans regained their composure. Colby Callan broke the tie with an even-strength marker, and Sheldon Kucy added an insurance goal less than two minutes later. With Langley pressing for another equalizer, Rhys McLean sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final minute, assisted by Kucy and Spencer Behnsen, to cap off a wild and contentious 7-4 win for the Titans.
