The 15U AAA HC Edmonton squad used a dominant third period to pull away from South Sask HC, securing a decisive 7-3 victory in a game that featured plenty of offense. The opening period set the tone, with Edmonton's Isac Gendreau opening the scoring just over a minute into the game. Edmonton then capitalized on an early power play, as Carson Powers buried a goal assisted by Gendreau to double the lead. South Sask answered back late in the period, with Braydon Wilcox finding the net off helpers from Jacob Warren and Riley Ducharme to keep the game close heading into the first intermission.
The second period saw the teams trade goals, keeping the contest tight. Edmonton's Zhaine Arcand restored the two-goal cushion, but South Sask's Riley Ducharme responded to bring his team back within one before the period ended. The game was very much up for grabs heading into the final frame, with South Sask showing resilience. The turning point, however, came midway through the third period when Edmonton's Jackson Huff broke the deadlock with the game-winning goal, assisted by Carson Powers.
That goal seemed to unlock Edmonton's offense, as they erupted for three more in quick succession. Just 24 seconds after his first, Huff struck again, with Powers and Carson Rocque picking up the assists. Ryler White then took over, scoring two goals of his own to put the game completely out of reach. South Sask's Braydon Wilcox managed a late consolation goal for his second of the game, but it was too little, too late. Despite being outshot in the first period, Edmonton's offense, led by multi-point performances from Jackson Huff, Carson Powers, and Ryler White, proved too much to handle in a commanding third-period display.
