The Langley HA 15U AAA team delivered a commanding performance on home ice, cruising to a 10-2 victory over the Okanagan HC. The story of the game was written by number 83, Theodore Kim, who put on a scoring clinic with a remarkable five-goal night. The game was effectively decided in a dominant first period where Langley built an insurmountable lead, outshooting Okanagan 18-10 and capitalizing on both even-strength and power-play opportunities. Langley's offensive depth was on full display, with key contributions coming from across the lineup to support Kim's historic outing.
Langley set the tone early. Just moments after killing off a high-sticking penalty to Taishi Higaki, they struck first on the power play. Xavier Wellard and Mattias Nord set up Theodore Kim for his first of the night at 13:23. The floodgates opened from there. Hayden Laneville netted what would stand as the game-winner at 9:40, and Easton Neuner made it 3-0 shortly after, with assists from Noah Keith and Marcus Whittome. Kim completed his first-period hat trick with goals at 5:02 and 3:28, the latter assisted by Neuner, to give Langley a staggering 5-0 lead after twenty minutes. Okanagan struggled with discipline, taking three minors in the frame, while Langley's Xavier Wellard received a two-and-ten minute penalty for an illegal check to the head late in the period.
The middle frame saw Langley continue their relentless attack. Theodore Kim netted his fourth goal early, and Reilly Grisdale added another to extend the lead to 7-0. Okanagan finally broke through on Langley's Mason Guiel late in the period when Oliver LaRoy scored, assisted by Tyler Reszitnyk and Cameron Reynolds, to make it 7-1. Any thought of an Okanagan comeback was quickly extinguished in the third. Xavier Wellard redeemed himself with a goal, assisted by the penalty-taking duo of Higaki and Tanner Chahal, just over two minutes in. Although LaRoy scored his second for Okanagan to make it 8-2, Langley had the final say. Theodore Kim fittingly scored his fifth goal of the night, assisted by Taishi Higaki, and Bryson Miller rounded out the scoring for the 10-2 final. In net, Mason Guiel earned the win for Langley, while Sanjay Basdeo faced a barrage of 44 shots for Okanagan in a tough-luck loss. The game was a showcase of Langley's potent offense, led by an unforgettable individual performance from Theodore Kim.
