Jude Mallon opened the scoring just over four minutes in, and Zhaine Arcand doubled the lead a mere 34 seconds later, assisted by Jesse Mudryk. Jack McGean would add a third for Edmonton late in the period, capitalizing on a setup from Arcand and Ryler White, giving the visitors a commanding 3-0 lead after one. South Sask HC mounted a fierce comeback in the second period. After Chase Kohler extended Edmonton's lead to 4-0, the home team finally broke through on the power play. Any momentum South Sask carried into the third period was quickly extinguished. Just 32 seconds in, Ryler White scored a power-play goal for Edmonton, assisted by Carson Powers, to restore a three-goal cushion. Jackson Huff then made it 6-2 midway through the period, seemingly putting the game out of reach. Cooper Hale netted his second of the game for South Sask to provide a brief response, but the comeback bid was officially killed when South Sask's Jacob Warren received a major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding with just over four minutes to play. Despite outshooting Edmonton 16-5 in the final frame and 44-27 overall, South Sask HC couldn't overcome their early deficit and a disciplined Edmonton attack that capitalized on its chances.
