The 15U AAA Okanagan HC and Coquitlam HC treated fans to a back-and-forth thriller that saw Coquitlam emerge with a narrow 4-3 victory. After a scoreless first period that saw Coquitlam outshoot Okanagan 14-10, the game exploded in the second frame. Coquitlam's Rayhan Patel opened the scoring midway through the period, but Okanagan quickly responded on the power play with Kingston Kruger tying the game. The seesaw battle continued as Okanagan's Brady L'Henaff gave his team their first lead, only for Coquitlam's Akay Mellios to answer back before the period ended, sending the teams into the final intermission knotted at 2-2.
The third period was a rollercoaster of special teams and momentum swings. Coquitlam's Linden Yap put his team back in front early, and Dominik Udovicic extended the lead with a power-play goal, capitalizing on an Okanagan penalty. Despite being outshot 20-12 in the final period, Okanagan showed tremendous fight. Down by two goals, Brady L'Henaff scored his second of the game, a shorthanded marker assisted by Tyler Reszitnyk, to pull his team within one and set up a frantic finish. The game ended in controversy, however, as Okanagan's Oliver LaRoy was assessed a game misconduct for an illegal check to the head in the final seconds, leaving his team shorthanded as the clock expired.
While Coquitlam's offensive pressure was relentless—finishing with a 50-36 shot advantage—Okanagan goalie Tyson Magnan faced a barrage all night. The game was heavily influenced by penalties, with Okanagan taking seven infractions including the late major. Standout performances included Brady L'Henaff's two-goal effort for Okanagan and Akay Mellios's goal and assist for Coquitlam, whose special teams ultimately made the difference in this hard-fought Junior Prospects Hockey League contest.
