The 15U AAA matchup between HC Edmonton and Okanagan HC started with an early surprise as Okanagan's Liam Locke opened the scoring just 1:40 into the first period, assisted by Brady L'Henaff and Sam Hopkins. However, that would prove to be Okanagan's only bright spot in a game dominated by Edmonton's relentless offensive pressure. Despite taking an early penalty from Carson Powers, Edmonton weathered the storm and began to assert their dominance, outshooting Okanagan 23-13 in the opening frame while building momentum that would carry through the entire game.
The turning point came late in the second period when Zhaine Arcand capitalized on a power play opportunity with just 53 seconds remaining, tying the game with assists from Jesse Mudryk. Edmonton carried this momentum into the third period where they exploded for four unanswered goals. Logan Lankoff broke the tie with the game-winner just 51 seconds into the final frame, assisted by Jude Mallon. Arcand then added a spectacular shorthanded goal midway through the period, his second of the game, with Mallon picking up another helper. The offensive onslaught continued as Chase Kohler and Michael Dolan added even-strength tallies to put the game completely out of reach.
While Edmonton's offense shone brightly, their defensive effort and goaltending were equally impressive. Cruz D'Costa turned aside all but one of Okanagan's 26 shots, providing a steady presence in net that allowed his team to play with confidence. The game was marred by numerous penalties, particularly for Okanagan's Taylor Linde who took four minor penalties throughout the contest. Edmonton's ability to capitalize on special teams, combined with their overwhelming shot advantage of 68-26, demonstrated a complete team performance that left no doubt about their superiority on this night.
