The 15U AAA HC Edmonton squad delivered a commanding performance from start to finish, blanking the Calgary Rockies 9-0 in a one-sided affair. The tone was set early as Jackson Huff, wearing number 29, opened the scoring just under two minutes into the first period, assisted by Ryler White. That goal would stand as the game-winner, but it was just the beginning. White would later return the favor, scoring a goal of his own with help from Alex Corser and Huff. Despite taking three minor penalties in the opening frame, Edmonton's defense and goaltender Logan Gardiner held firm, and Chase Kohler added a third goal late to give the home team a comfortable 3-0 lead after one.
The onslaught continued in the second period. Calder Keith scored twice, with his first goal assisted by Keagan St. Cyr and Michael Dolan, and his second coming from St. Cyr and Jesse Mudryk. Parker Garlitos also found the back of the net, with Logan Lankoff and Matthew Persaud picking up helpers. The period was marred by a scrum at the 5:41 mark that resulted in a roughing minor and a ten-minute misconduct for Edmonton's Jude Mallon and a matching minor for Calgary's Jake Domville. Through it all, Gardiner was a fortress, turning away all 21 shots he faced through two periods as Edmonton built an insurmountable 6-0 lead.
Any hope of a Rockies comeback was extinguished early in the third. Jackson Huff netted his second of the night, assisted by Jesse Mudryk, and Jack McGean made it 8-0 just 38 seconds later, with Carson Rocque getting the assist. Chase Kohler capped off the scoring with his second goal of the game, from Bryce Ayrey and the ever-involved Jackson Huff, who finished with a stellar five-point night (2 goals, 3 assists). Logan Gardiner was perfect, stopping all 31 shots for a flawless shutout, while the Edmonton offense fired 37 shots on a beleaguered Calgary goaltending duo. It was a complete team victory that showcased HC Edmonton's offensive firepower and defensive discipline.
