In a commanding display of offensive firepower and disciplined play, the South Sask HC 14U AAA squad skated to a decisive 7-1 victory over the Calgary Rockies. From the opening puck drop, South Sask established control, outshooting the Rockies 17-14 in the first period and never looking back. The home team capitalized on early power-play opportunities, with Oaklen Rogers opening the scoring midway through the first period, assisted by Bryce Scrupps. The momentum continued as Dax Perkins netted the eventual game-winner late in the period, with Scrupps and Will Thomlinson providing the helpers. The physical tone was set early with multiple penalties, including an illegal check to the head by the Rockies' Brady Roth, putting South Sask on the man advantage where they made their mark.
The second period saw South Sask extend their lead with Gavin Mackow finding the back of the net early. The Rockies managed to break through on their own power play, with Zander Schultz scoring assisted by Brixtin Cenaiko and Brady Roth, providing a brief moment of hope for the visitors. However, South Sask quickly answered back on a power play of their own, as Rowen Istace scored his first of the night with help from Keaton Keith and Keenan Williams. The period was marred by continued penalty trouble for both sides, including a charging minor against Istace and a check from behind called on the Rockies' Luke Baldwin.
The final frame was all South Sask as they poured in three more goals to seal the victory. Istace netted his second of the game, assisted by Mackow and Rogers, before Rogers completed his hat trick with helpers from Quinn Partington and Keenan Williams. Rogers added his fourth goal of the contest late in the period. The game ended on a chippy note with multiple misconducts and roughing penalties assessed in the final minute, including a misconduct and illegal check to the head called on South Sask's Ethan Lloyd and matching misconduct and charging penalties against the Rockies' Dionysus Adrian. Despite the lopsided score, Rockies goalie Reid Wetsch faced a barrage of 51 shots, while South Sask's Slater Amiot turned aside 40 of 41 for the convincing win.
