The Langley HA 14U AAA team staged a dramatic third-period comeback to secure a hard-fought 4-3 victory over a determined Victoria HA squad. The game was a back-and-forth affair from the opening faceoff, with Victoria striking first on a unique play. Just over six minutes into the first period, a penalty shot was awarded, and Victoria's Niko Stamatakis capitalized, beating the Langley goaltender to give the visitors an early 1-0 lead. Langley dominated the shot count early, firing 13 pucks on Victoria's Hunter Villecourt in the first, but Villecourt stood tall to preserve the lead heading into the intermission.
The second period saw momentum swing on special teams. Victoria extended their lead on a power play, with Jayce Ward finding the back of the net off a setup from Dominic Quast. However, Langley refused to go quietly. With just 16 seconds remaining in the period, Nathan Martin scored an even-strength goal, assisted by Mason Shelley, to cut the deficit to 2-1 and inject life into the home bench. The penalty sheet began to fill up as well, with Victoria's Ward taking a second boarding minor and Langley's Michael Kralj and Hayden Pothier each serving minors.
The final frame was an offensive explosion. Langley's Samarpreet Hansra tied the game at 2-2 early in the period, setting the stage for a frantic finish. Victoria responded on the power play, as Austin Joyce restored their lead with assists from Quast and Sebastian Byram. But Langley saved their best for last. With under two minutes to play and the game on the line, Jack Walker delivered the equalizer, sending the game into a tense final minute. The home team completed the stunning turnaround just moments later, finding the game-winner to seal a 4-3 victory. Despite the loss, Victoria's Hunter Villecourt faced a barrage of 39 shots, while Langley's Dylan East earned the win in net. The game was a testament to resilience, with Langley overcoming a pair of one-goal deficits to claim a crucial two points.
