The 14U AAA Northstars HA delivered a masterclass in offensive hockey, cruising to a commanding 12-0 victory over the Surrey Eagles HA. From the opening faceoff, the Northstars established a relentless pace, outshooting their opponents 45-13 over the course of the game. The scoring started early and never relented. Dominic Squires, wearing number 7, opened the floodgates with the game-winning goal late in the first period, assisted by Mathéo Ross and Brody Sullivan. Ryker Philpott and Sullivan would add two more before the first intermission, setting the tone for a long night for the Eagles' defense. The Northstars' attack was a symphony of precision, with players like Mathéo Ross and Brody Sullivan acting as dual conductors, each finishing with multi-point nights.
The second period saw the Northstars capitalize on their momentum and a pair of Eagles penalties. On a power play early in the frame, Brody Sullivan netted his second of the game, with helpers from Hunter Leckie and Mathéo Ross. Just over two minutes later, with the man advantage still active, Mathéo Ross found the back of the net himself, assisted by Sullivan and Lincoln Wigle. The home team's depth was on full display as Kyle Courtney, Ross again, and Hunter Leckie all lit the lamp, pushing the lead to an insurmountable 8-0 heading into the final period. The Eagles, managed by a valiant effort from goaltender Hayley Graham who faced a barrage of shots, simply had no answer for the Northstars' wave of pressure.
Any hope of a Surrey comeback was extinguished in the third as the Northstars added four more goals to complete the rout. Hunter Leckie, Mathéo Ross, Logan McMorran, and Ryker Philpott all scored, with Ross completing a spectacular four-goal, five-point performance. The story on the other end of the ice was the perfect game by Northstars goalie Owen Picken. Facing 13 shots, Picken was a brick wall, turning away every opportunity to earn a well-deserved shutout. The final horn sounded on a comprehensive team victory for the Northstars, a statement win built on explosive offense and impenetrable defense.
