The 14U AAA matchup between Island HC and Victoria HA delivered an intense, back-and-forth battle that saw Island HC emerge with a hard-fought 4-3 win. The home team came out flying in the first period, establishing an early lead. Liam McNaughton opened the scoring, assisted by Wade Sangara and Liam Rosse, before Reef Santos Cegnar doubled the advantage just over three minutes later, with McNaughton and Sangara picking up their second points of the period. The physical tone was set early with penalties for an Illegal Check to the Head by Jayce Ward and a pair of roughing minors and a misconduct that saw tempers flare between Liam Rosse and James Winship.
Victoria HA regrouped and began to tilt the ice in the second period, outshooting Island HC 16-6. Their persistence paid off when Sawyer Large found the back of the net, with assists from Randy (RJ) Mattin and Evan Holfeld, cutting the deficit to one. The period was marred by more special teams play, including an Illegal Check to the Head penalty to Wade Sangara, but Victoria couldn't capitalize on their momentum to draw even before the intermission.
The third period erupted into a wild, four-goal flurry. Island HC's Liam Rosse scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal, set up by Austin Coutu and Logan Clark, to give his team a 3-1 lead. Victoria responded with urgency, as Dominic Quast scored his first of the game just over a minute later to make it 3-2. The drama intensified when Lincoln Carto scored for Island HC to restore the two-goal cushion, only for Dominic Quast to answer back just 14 seconds later for Victoria, completing his two-goal period and making it a nail-biting 4-3 finish. Despite a late push and a final shot advantage of 36-24, Victoria HA couldn't find the equalizer, sealing a character win for Island HC in a contest defined by its physical play and offensive bursts.
