In a game defined by physical play and disciplined goaltending, the Langley HA 17U AAA squad secured a 3-1 victory over the Island HC 17U AAA team. The game's tone was set early with a parade to the penalty box, as both teams combined for multiple infractions in the opening period. Despite the chippy play, neither side could break through in the first, thanks in large part to the stellar work of Island HC's Marek Fisher, who faced a barrage of 18 shots in the period alone. The deadlock was finally broken in the second period when Island HC's Kayden Brunet, assisted by Max Munroe and Michel Rechon-Reguet, capitalized to give his team the lead. However, the momentum was short-lived.
Langley responded with authority just over a minute later. Micah Sidhu, wearing number 12, netted his first of the game, assisted by Carden Fraser and Mason Cvitkovich, to tie the score. The middle frame was marred by further penalties, including a 10-minute misconduct to Island's Kayden Brunet, which hampered their ability to mount a consistent attack. Langley continued to dominate the shot count, relentlessly testing Fisher, who stood tall to keep the game knotted heading into the final period.
The third period belonged to Langley's offensive leaders. Micah Sidhu struck again, this time assisted by Axen Peterson and Gavin Mandzuk, to give Langley their first lead of the game. Just over a minute later, Mason Cvitkovich sealed the victory with a goal of his own, assisted by Ryan Morris and the red-hot Micah Sidhu, who finished with a three-point night. At the other end of the ice, Langley's Aidan Lazazzera was a wall, turning aside 18 of 19 shots to earn the win. Despite a valiant effort from Island's Marek Fisher, who faced 47 total shots, Langley's offensive pressure and timely scoring proved too much to overcome in a hard-fought Junior Prospects Hockey League battle.
