The Langley HA 17U AAA squad came out firing on all cylinders in a commanding 5-1 victory over HC Edmonton. From the opening puck drop, Langley established their offensive presence, unleashing a staggering 20 shots in the first period alone. The home team struck first when Mason Cvitkovich buried an even-strength goal at 13:36, assisted by Micah Sidhu. Just over two minutes later, Reid Birtch doubled the lead with what would prove to be the game-winning goal, set up beautifully by KJ Raymond. HC Edmonton managed to get on the board late in the period when Kale Whitney scored off assists from Hudson Deren and Greyson Howse, but Langley responded immediately with Micah Sidhu restoring the two-goal lead before the period ended.
The second period saw Langley continue their offensive dominance, though HC Edmonton's penalty trouble began to mount. After taking a bench minor for too many players early in the game, Edmonton found themselves shorthanded again when Noah Horvatis was called for tripping. Langley capitalized on their momentum as Mason Cvitkovich netted his second of the game unassisted midway through the period. The home team saved their best for last in the second period, with Reid Birtch scoring his second goal of the contest with just three seconds remaining, assisted by Micah Sidhu and Axen Peterson, effectively putting the game out of reach.
Despite a quieter third period that saw only seven combined shots, Langley's early offensive explosion and solid team defense proved insurmountable. The home team's top performers included Mason Cvitkovich with two goals, Reid Birtch with the game-winner plus another, and Micah Sidhu who contributed a goal and two assists. While HC Edmonton's Kale Whitney provided their lone bright spot with a first-period goal, the visitors couldn't solve Langley's defensive structure or match their offensive firepower throughout the contest.
