The 17U AAA Island HC put on a clinic against the Lloydminster Athletics, cruising to a decisive 7-0 victory in a game they controlled from start to finish. The tone was set early when Lloydminster's Jayce Fick took a roughing penalty, and Island HC's Oliver Luttrell capitalized on the ensuing power play, scoring the game-winning goal with assists from Michel Rechon-Reguet. The period ended with another power play marker, this time from Mateo Lobos-Worger, who was set up by Max Munroe and Wyatt Fyfe, giving Island HC a commanding 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The second period saw Island HC extend their dominance with three even-strength goals. Max Munroe found the net early, assisted by Cullin Camarta, who then scored one of his own with a helper from Munroe. The physicality ramped up with a major boarding penalty assessed to Oliver Luttrell, but it was Wyatt Fyfe who added another goal for Island HC late in the period, with Casey Bukta and Mateo Lobos-Worger earning the assists. Despite being outshot 9-11 in the period, Lloydminster could not solve Island HC's netminder.
Any hope of a Lloydminster comeback was extinguished quickly in the third period. Island HC's Kahlil Paroo scored just over three minutes in, with Michel Rechon-Reguet and Cullin Camarta picking up their second assists of the game. Less than a minute later, Gavin Robertshaw put the final nail in the coffin, assisted by Jihwan Hwang, to make it 7-0. Lloydminster's frustration was evident as Kieran Reilly took two minor penalties in the game, but they were unable to generate any offense against a stifling Island HC defense and the stellar goaltending of Ryder Kent, who earned a shutout by turning aside all 23 shots he faced in a complete team victory.
