The Langley HA 17U AAA squad delivered an offensive clinic on home ice, cruising to a decisive 8-3 victory over the Okanagan HC. The game was defined by Langley's relentless pressure and opportunistic scoring, turning a tight contest into a runaway win with a dominant second period. Langley's attack was a multi-faceted threat, with seven different players lighting the lamp, showcasing their depth and overwhelming the Okanagan defense.
The game started with a special teams battle. Langley's Carden Fraser opened the scoring with a crucial shorthanded goal, stealing momentum early. Okanagan's Kayden Patkau answered back on the ensuing power play, assisted by Harry Watson, to knot the game at 1-1. The turning point came in a wild second period. Mason Cvitkovich put Langley back ahead, but Okanagan's Jaxon Everett, assisted by Bruin Whittle, tied it again at 2-2. From there, Langley took complete control. Ryan Morris, assisted by Micah Sidhu and Cvitkovich, started a four-goal barrage. Preston Penno followed just 17 seconds later, with helpers from Ivan Latyshev and Zachary Smith, to score what would stand as the game-winning goal. Theodore Kim and Axen Peterson extended the lead to 6-2, leaving Okanagan reeling.
Okanagan showed brief life in the third as Kayden Patkau netted his second of the night, assisted by Memphis Rosette and Ryder Oaten. Any hope of a comeback was quickly extinguished, however, as Langley's special teams struck again. This time it was Zachary Smith scoring a shorthanded goal, with KJ Raymond and Aidan Lazazzera earning assists. Dominic Hall, assisted by Ivan Latyshev, capped off the scoring to seal the 8-3 final. While Okanagan's Patkau was a bright spot with two goals, they were no match for Langley's balanced and explosive offense, which converted on 41 total shots to secure a commanding victory.
