Ten different players, including both goaltenders Joel Paladino and Nevan Coburn (who had relieved Aidan Lazazzera), were assessed roughing minors and accompanying ten-minute misconducts, clearing both benches and ending the game in a bizarre and contentious fashion. Despite being outshot 48-34, Coquitlam's Joel Paladino was perfect in net, turning aside all 48 shots he faced for a remarkable shutout performance in relief of the stat line, while his team capitalized on key opportunities to secure the win.
