Junior Prospects Hockey League (JPHL) Establishes Player Transfer Agreement (PTA) with BCHL, Elevating Development Opportunities for Student-Athletes

Wednesday, April 3, 2024

[Edmonton, AB, April 3, 2024] - The Junior Prospects Hockey League (JPHL) is excited to announce a groundbreaking Player Transfer Agreement (PTA) with the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). This strategic partnership opens up a myriad of development opportunities for student-athletes within the JPHL, further solidifying its’ status as the premier youth hockey league in Western Canada.

This agreement encompasses many benefits to enhance the development and exposure of JPHL players. Under the PTA, JPHL players have the opportunity to practice and play games within the BCHL, providing a valuable gateway to higher levels of competition. In addition, JPHL teams will compete at select BCHL special events and showcases. These events are attended by numerous professional and collegiate scouts, offering unparalleled exposure and opportunities for aspiring student-athletes.

“The BCHL is excited about this agreement with the JPHL and providing more opportunities to young athletes across Western Canada," said BCHL Commissioner Steven Cocker. "We look forward to continuing to educate all athletes and their families about the options available to them at a critical time in their development.”

“While the JPHL is open to work together with many hockey stakeholders, the PTA provides a seamless pathway for its players to ascend to some of the highest levels of junior hockey and beyond.” Richard Nault, Commissioner of the JPHL, stated, "We are thrilled to formalize this agreement with the BCHL, a league renowned for its excellence in player development and commitment to advancing the sport of hockey. This is a significant milestone for the JPHL and underscores our dedication to providing our players with unparalleled opportunities for integration, growth and success."
